About the Roles

The Children's Cancer Centre at Monash Children's Hospital is looking for an experienced ward clerk to join our team for a fixed term opportunity, covering long service leave. 

  • 0.4 EFT available 10/02/2026 - 09/03/2026
  • 1.0 EFT available 09/03/2026 - 08/05/2026

About Us     

4C Reef, the CCC cares for approximately 30% of the Victoria’s childhood cancer patients. The CCC is also the primary treating team at Monash Health for children receiving care for haematological conditions. 4C Reef is the ambulatory care unit capable of providing complex cancer care across the disease continuum and admits children with haematological and oncological conditions to the paediatric inpatient units with the Monash Children’s Hospital.   

The focus of this role will be on being the welcoming face of the CCC. You will join an established and supportive administrative team and be welcomed in to a large multidisciplinary team. The administrative officer will be responsible for admitting and discharging patients and families who attend the clinic. This will involve scheduling appointments for new and existing referrals, liasing with external health services for patient results and treatment summaries, coordinating interpreting services and ensuring patient enquiries are referred appropriately.  

As a HS2 administrative officer you will always complete administration tasks for the Nurse Manager and Head of Department, including patient letters, assistance scheduling meetings, ordering stock and stationary for the unit and completing engineering requests. 

 

About You   

You are a proactive, experienced health care administrator who enjoys a fast-paced environment and can work effectively in an autonomous role. Prioritising comes naturally to you and being in a hospital environment you exhibit integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence. To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:      

  • Proven health care administration experience and IT proficiency     

  • IPM knowledge and skills      

  • Friendly, customer service driven individual who can communicate effectively     

  • Proactive, organised and can work autonomously
