About the Department / Program
The Monash Children’s Cancer Centre (CCC) at Monash Medical Centre (MMC) is an integral part of the new Monash Children’s Hospital (MCH), caring for approximately 30% of Victoria’s childhood cancer patients. The CCC is also the primary treating team at Monash Health for children who are outpatients with haematological conditions.
Ward 4C – Reef is an ambulatory care unit, that is capable of providing complex cancer care across the disease continuum and admits children with haematological and oncological conditions to the paediatric inpatient units within MCH. Reef provides a range of ambulatory services including medical oncology and haematology speciality clinics, nurse led clinics, multidisciplinary clinics and a day treatment service.
About the Role
Join our team as a administration officer on a part-time basis to work at Monash Children's Hospital, Clayton. In this role, you will be guided under the leadership of the Nurse Manager and working with the broader Paediatric Oncology team.
The role is an administrative position responsible for providing efficient and productive administrative support to the CCC medical, nursing and Allied Health team to achieve optimal patient flow and facilitate responsive patient care. The role is also responsible for ensuring best practices and optimal outcomes for outpatient clinic bookings, telephone inquiries, patient accounts, and billing services. This position works with the broader CCC team to provide general administrative assistance imcluding typing and the coordination of hospitals services to the CCC such as medical records, material resources.
About You
To be successful in this healthcare role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes:
- Excellent clerical/administrative skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of medical terminology and hospital data management systems
- Demonstrated experience in delivering quality customer service
- Experience with computer packages, particularly Microsoft Office suite and accurate typing and word processing skils
- Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to participate and cooperate with a multidisciplinary team
- Time management and task prioritisation
- Professional interactions with clients and clinicians
