About the Role  

Join our team as a Ward Clerk on a part-time ongoing basis working out of ward 3A Forest at Monash Children’s Hospital 1 day a week, every Saturday morning (7am-3.30pm).  

We guarantee that no two days will be the same.  

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic ward clerk to join our dynamic team. You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors both over the phone and face to face. On accepting this role, you will fast become an integral member of a cohesive team, working closely alongside nursing, medical and allied health staff as well as becoming a point of call for PSAs. You should have efficient computer skills including knowledge and experience of Monash Health administration systems. Punctuality and professional presentation are important. You will be required to communicate effectively with staff and take a proactive approach to your duties

About You  

You are a proven Ward Clerk with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a willingness to commit to team work and ongoing professional development that align with our programs, values and vision. To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:  

  • Previous experience working as a Ward Clerk is essential   
  • The ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment    
  • Excellent customer services skills and ability to remain calm and helpful in a challenging or changing environment    
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills    
  • Enthusiasm, compassion & the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health team    
  • Have a passion for and are able to learn new systems and processes quickly    
  • Being a team player    
  • A positive approach to a frequently changing environment
