About the Role:
Join our team as the Allied Health Assistant Grade 2 on a part-time ongoing (0.60 EFT / 45.6 hours per fortnight) basis based at the Monash Children’s Hospital in Clayton.
This is a rare opportunity to work as a paediatric interdisciplinary Allied Health Assistant. Specialising in support of infants, children, adolescents and families in a wide range of areas.
In this role you will be aligned primarily with the dietetics, occupational therapy and speech pathology teams where you will:
- Receive support and training across all areas
- Provide clinical and non-clinical support to paediatric inpatients and outpatients and their families across a wide variety of clinical areas under the supervision of Allied Health Professionals
- Provide support and crossover to the physiotherapy, social work and music therapy teams as required
- Contribute to the development of AHA programs, processes and quality improvement activities
- Provide non-clinical support to the leadership, administration and profession teams as required. This will include things such as assisting in the preparation of specialised infant formula in our Formula Room, monitoring and ordering of allied health equipment and setting up the video fluroscopy suite with speech pathologists
- Be responsible for managing equipment and stock levels and facilitating the smooth operating of the Therapies Clinic

Monash Children’s Hospital is one of Australia’s leading providers of integrated children’s health services, with more than 30 specialist services and programs. We have Victoria’s largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and provide leading paediatric services in many areas including Rehabilitation, Oncology, Orthopaedics, Developmental Medicine and Neonates.
About You:
To thrive in this role, you will bring the following:
- Certificate IV Allied Health Assistance
- Eligibility for membership of AHANA as a Practicing Member (General)
- Demonstrated developing clinical knowledge and experience
- Experience in delivering individual or group therapy programs
- Experience supporting the use and maintenance of aids, equipment, and assistive technology under AHP guidance
- Developing skills in quality improvement or research projects
- Growing experience in delivering professional education and development
