About the Role
We are excited to announce we are seeking applications for a Graduate Art Therapist within the Allied Health Mental Health Graduate Program.
The Allied Health Mental Health Graduate Program commences at the end of June 2025 for 12-months, with 6 monthly rotations across a range of mental health areas including child, youth, adult and older adults in both community and inpatient settings. This will assist you in developing fundamental assessment, formulation and treatment skills.
A dedicated Art Therapy Clinical Educator and a learning package will assist the incumbent to develop both discipline specific and broader mental health knowledge and skills required for ongoing work in mental health care.
This position will require the incumbent to work in any clinical area at any Monash Health site as and when required.
About You
You are someone who has a genuine interest in beginning and developing your Allied Health career in Mental Health Care. You will be an early career clinician in Art Therapy with less than 2 years professional experience and the following skills:

Requirements for this role include:
- Two year Post Graduate degree or Masters in Art Therapy or Creative Arts Therapy
- Eligible for Professional membership of Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies and Association
About Us
The Mental Health Program serves consumers, their carers and families across the south eastern metropolitan region with bed-based, community and rehabilitation programs. The service covers the age spectrum in its entirety, offering client centred programs for 0-25yo in Infant Child and Youth, and over 18 years for Adult and Older Adult Services. We also provide specialist services for eating disorders, treatment and support for expectant mothers and mothers with new born babies, a gender dysphoria clinic, dual disability services and neuro-developmental assessment team.
The Allied Health Mental Health Graduate Program is embedded in the Monash Health mental health workforce. It is designed to provide a supportive and comprehensive foundation experience in mental health, offering the right tools, experiences and environments that will enable Graduates to confidently and competently contribute to Monash Health’s clinical work and thrive in their graduate year.
