About the Role

Join Monash Health Pharmacy in a senior leadership role leading pharmacy services at Moorabbin Hospital and providing strategic oversight of Cancer Services and Compounding across one of Australia's largest public health services.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospital pharmacist to drive clinical and operational excellence, strengthen governance and workforce capability, and shape innovative pharmacy services that improve patient care across Monash Health.

 

As the Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy – Moorabbin & Compounding, this is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity, with part-time/job-share arrangements considered.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead pharmacy services at Moorabbin Hospital and provide strategic oversight of Cancer Services and Compounding across Monash Health.
  • Lead, mentor and develop pharmacy leaders and teams, building a high-performing and engaged workforce.
  • Drive governance, medication safety, quality improvement and compliance across specialised pharmacy services.
  • Lead strategic planning, service innovation and operational excellence to strengthen pharmacy service delivery.
  • Collaborate with clinical and executive leaders to deliver safe, innovative and patient-centred pharmacy services.

 

This role reports to a Deputy Director of Pharmacy and leads Pharmacy Team Leaders who manage teams of pharmacists and technicians.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Extensive hospital pharmacy experience, including Oncology/Haematology and Compounding
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior pharmacy leadership or management role
  • Proven ability to lead clinical governance, medication safety and quality improvement initiatives
  • Strong leadership skills with experience developing high-performing teams and leading organisational change
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and collaborative leadership skills
  • A commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and delivering high-quality patient care

 

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Relevant hospital pharmacy experience
  • Evidence of required employment screenings and immunisations in line with Monash Health policy
