About the Role:
As an Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy, you will work within the Pharmacy Leadership Team, with responsibility for the Workforce and Wellbeing portfolios. Our Pharmacy Leadership Team is highly regarded. This is an opportunity to work with and learn from recognised national leaders in hospital pharmacy practice.
This role is suitable for an experienced hospital pharmacist leader looking to progress their career in a supportive environment. At Monash Health, Assistant Deputy Directors of Pharmacy report to a Deputy Director of Pharmacy. Your direct reports will be Pharmacy Team Leaders, who each manage a team of 10-12 pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
Join our team as an Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy on a full time, ongoing basis working across all Monash Health sites.
The Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy – Workforce will be responsible for the day to day oversight of recruitment, retention and wellbeing programs, pharmacist and technician casual banks and will assist the Deputy Director of Pharmacy – Workforce and Wellbeing to manage their portfolio responsibilities, specifically in the areas of:
- developing and maintaining the systems and processes for recruitment, on-boarding and retention of employees and ongoing position management
- developing, supporting and promoting a positive workplace culture
- overseeing the activities of the Pharmacist Team Leader – Casual Bank and Team Leader - Administration
As part of the Pharmacy Leadership Team, the Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy – Workforce and Bank will actively participate in planning for and delivery of the Pharmacy’s strategic and business plans, and work with other members of the Pharmacy Leadership Team to deliver excellence in the Pharmacy Service.

About You:
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Pharmacy Board of Australia approved qualifications as a Pharmacist
- Registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority as a Pharmacist
- Post-graduate qualifications relevant to position
- Extensive experience as a hospital pharmacist
- Previous experience in a leadership or management role
- Established track record in research (peer reviewed publications and presentations)
- Experience in education of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, interns and/or students
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills to develop and manage pharmacy workforce data
