Monash Medical Centre Operating Suites have 9 Theatres and cater for a wide variety of surgical specialties including but not limited to, General, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, ENT, Paediatrics, Colorectal, Dental/Maxillofacial and Hepatobiliary. We operate 24hours a day, 7 days a week and provide a highly acute emergency service.
About the Role:
Join our team in the Operating Theatres at Monash Medical Centre Clayton as an Associate Nurse Manager, ideally with Anaesthetic & PACU experience on a permanent, full time basis.
As an ANM within the Operating Theatre you will be expected to professionally lead the Night Duty team whilst providing nursing care for both adult and paediatric patients, across a variety of specialties. You will work closely to directly support our professional multidisciplinary team and ensure the safety of our patients at one of their most vulnerable states. Taking a team focus on delivery of care, our primary focus is on a patient's safe journey through theatre. We have a strong education focus and encourage staff to further develop their skills, along with being a part of a friendly environment to work in.
As an Associate Nurse Manager you will:
- Work in collaboration with the Anaesthetists to provide excellent patient care
- Triage and manage acute demand in the after hours space in conjunction with the in charge anaesthetist
- Monitor and provide care for patients in their pre, intra and post-operative phase prior to transfer to the ward/ICU
- Professionally lead and collaborate with the Night Duty team whilst providing a safe and supportive environment for them to work in
- Liaise with and perform tasks for the Nurse Manager when delegated
- Complete administrative work, including maintaining a Quality and Safety portfolio
- Collaborate with fellow ANM’s within the department
- Manage staff skill mix and unplanned leave requests
About You
With a caring and engaging manner, you must bring a genuine interest, positive attitude and passion for Perioperative Nursing. Safety is paramount in this role whilst we advocate for our patients during their most vulnerable state. Your role within the unit is to support the multidisciplinary team for procedures and patient care with highly developed skills including communication, clinical and team focused. We are a close knit unit who value collaboration and the will to help each other. You will have access to resources to support you in this position, enabling you to further advance your nursing and leadership skills whilst role modelling nursing excellence and delivering a high standard of patient care.
Manadatory Requirements:
- Minimum experience of a Grad rotation within the Perioperative Environment, in Anaesthetics and PACU
- Current AHPRA registration
