About the role:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Associate Nurse Manager (ANM) to join our leadership team on Ward 7A. This is a rare opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role within a high-performing cardiac unit at the forefront of cardiac care in Australia.

  • Ongoing 0.8 EFT available on a Part-Time basis.

 

As an ANM, you will work closely with the Nurse Manager and multidisciplinary team to support the operational and clinical management of the ward. You will play a key role in staff development, patient flow, quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of safe, evidence-based care.

This is a rotating roster position, including weekends and night duty, to support 24/7 leadership coverage.

The Victorian Heart Hospital is Australia’s first dedicated cardiac hospital, delivering world-class care to acute, complex tertiary and quaternary cardiac patients. Our cutting-edge facility includes ten cardiac catheterisation labs, five operating theatres, a Cardiac ICU, and a Cardiac Emergency Department. We serve a large local catchment and receive referrals from across Victoria for specialised cardiac care.

Ward 7A is a 32-bed Cardiac Inpatient Unit providing high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals with cardiology, cardiothoracic, and heart failure conditions. Our team is committed to clinical excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

 

About you:

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

  • Clinical expertise in cardiac and/or surgical nursing, with experience in acute or critical care settings.
  • Leadership capability, including experience in acting-up roles or leading teams in a clinical environment.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, delegate, and manage competing demands.
