About the role
We are looking for Associate Nurse Manager's within Anaesthetics/PACU and Scrub/Scout to join us at Monash Children’s Hospital. As someone who has strong knowledge and expertise within the Perioperative service, you will work alongside and support the Nursing staff, and broader team, in providing patient centered care.
The role will see you liaising with a wide set of internal and external stakeholders, therefore the ability to engage and build strong relationships with effective verbal and written communication skills are essential. You will have a demonstrated skills in providing high-quality, evidence-based patient care in line with Monash Health’s guiding principles in Excellence in Timely Care (EiTC) and iCare values.
- From admission of the patient, through the peri-operative phase to discharge, your compassionate nature will see you excel in these roles.
We currently have 2 opportunities available as listed below:
1 - Full Time ongoing position within Anaesthetic/Recovery - Part time will be considered.
2 - Full Time ongong position within Scrub/Scout - Orthopaedic speciality - Part time will be considered and Orthopaedic experience is essential
About us
Our Operating Suite is located at Monash Children's Hospital within a new purpose-built facility, featuring state of the art equipment within its four theatres & procedure room providing services to 4,000 patients a year!
Our areas of focus include foetal consultation, congenital anomalies, solid tumours of childhood, chest & chest wall conditions, head and neck conditions minimally invasive surgery and acute surgical care, however we also provide outpatient care and elective surgical care.
It is a fast-paced busy environment, where compassionate care for our young patients is our number one priority.
About you
Looking to grow our dedicated and knowledgeable team, we are wanting you to bring your demonstrated skills and experience, within a theatre environment, to look after our special patients.

Demonstrated experience in peri-operative nursing, essential

Orthopaedic Periop experience is essential for the Scrub/Scout role
- Strong Leadership skills, essential
- Highly developed communication and organisational skills
- A team based and collaborative approach to nursing, providing support to the wider multi-disciplinary team
- Commitment to maintaining our high standard of safety and patient engagement throughout the patient journey with us
- Current AHPRA registration, essential
- Qualification of Post Graduate studies within this specialty area, desirable
