About the Role:
We are seeking an exceptional Associate Nurse Manager (ANM) to join our highly specialised Cardiac Anaesthetic team at Victorian Heart Hospital.
- Associate Nurse Manager – Cardiac Theatres (Peri-Anaesthesia)
- Ongoing Part-Time | 60 hours per fortnight (0.7 EFT)
This is a pivotal leadership role where you will support the Nurse Manager to deliver outstanding clinical care, drive operational excellence, and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Working in a state-of-the-art facility, you will play a key role in shaping the future of cardiac services while contributing to exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff within the cardiac anaesthetic service
- Assist in managing day-to-day operations, staffing coordination, and workload allocation
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care
- Support staff development, mentoring, and performance management
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across perioperative and cardiac services

Cardiac Theatres – Leading the Way in Cardiac Surgery
Home to a suite of purpose-built cardiac theatres, the Victorian Heart Hospital offers a range of Australian-first cardiac services. Once fully operational, the hospital will perform over 2,000 open-heart surgeries annually, supported by advanced surgical capabilities and a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
About You:
You are a motivated and experienced nurse who thrives in a fast-paced, highly specialised environment. You bring both clinical expertise and a strong commitment to leadership in a highly specialised setting.
You will need to demonstrate :
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Postgraduate qualifications in perioperative or anaesthetic nursing (highly desirable)
- Strong operational, financial, and people-management capabilities
- Demonstrated experience leading change and service improvement
- Excellence in communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement
- A passion for innovation, learning, and developing future nursing leaders
