Monash Health Imaging is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Medical Imaging Technologist to lead our high-performing team across Monash Medical Centre (MMC), Monash Children’s Hospital (MCH), and the Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH).
About the Role
As Chief MIT, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality imaging services across three major hospitals, supporting all patient cohorts—from emergency and inpatient to outpatient care. This pivotal leadership role combines clinical excellence with strategic oversight, innovation, and team development.
You will:
- Oversee daily radiology operations across MMC, MCH, and VHH.
- Collaborate with Monash Radiology Leadership to implement initiatives aligned with the Monash Health Strategic Plan.
- Champion patient-centred care through quality service delivery, staff management, and operational accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a large, multidisciplinary imaging team.
- Drive excellence in imaging outcomes and patient experience.
- Support modality supervisors in audits, education, research, and equipment management.
- Foster cross-departmental collaboration to enhance service delivery.
- Manage recruitment processes for MITs and porters.
- Oversee staff development and ensure professional development plans are in place.
- Develop business cases and lead innovative projects to support growth and revenue.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and safety standards.
- Facilitate OHS activities and support sub-specialty radiology models.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced MIT who can:
- Shape and execute strategic directions for high-quality care.
- Develop systems and metrics to ensure consistent, patient-centred service.
- Maintain and expand accessible imaging services for the community.
- Champion best-practice procedures and continuous improvement.
- Engage stakeholders to deliver efficient, effective care.
Essential Requirements:
- Current AHPRA registration and Victorian Radiation User Licence (if required for clinical practice).
- Proven experience in recruitment, performance management, and financial oversight.
- Strong adaptability and leadership in dynamic clinical environments.
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualifications in health management or business administration.
