About the Role
We are seeking a Mental Health Clinician who is passionate about delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented care to people across all life stages. In this rewarding role, you will complete comprehensive mental health assessments, develop and deliver meaningful treatment plans, and support consumers to connect with the right community and specialist services at the right time.
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing service flow and demand to ensure timely access to care while meeting Statement of Priority targets. Working closely with consumers, families and carers, you’ll also build strong partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders including emergency departments, police, ambulance services, GPs, child protection and community agencies.
A key part of the role is providing expert advice, education and liaison around acute mental illness, suicide risk, self-harm, substance use and other complex presentations — always practising in line with recovery-focused principles that value individual choice, dignity and personal strengths.
This position is a part time (0.6 EFT) ongoing position, based at Monash Medical Centre in Clayton. It is open to Grade 2 Social Workers & Occupational Therapists, and Grade 3 Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs).
About Us
Our service supports individuals across all life stages, providing timely, recovery-oriented care that recognises the whole person — their strengths, choices and goals.
We work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary model and partner closely with consumers, families and carers, as well as emergency services, primary care and community agencies, to ensure coordinated and responsive support. Guided by our values and evidence-based practice, we strive to create safe, inclusive and supportive environments for both the people we care for and the clinicians who care for them.
By joining our team, you’ll be part of a service that values collaboration, professional growth and innovation, and where your expertise contributes to making a meaningful difference in our community.
About You
You are a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Clinician who is committed to delivering recovery-oriented, person-centred care. You bring strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills, and are confident supporting people across all life stages with a wide range of mental health presentations.
You thrive in fast-paced environments, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a calm, professional and consumer-focused approach. You value collaboration and enjoy working closely with consumers, families and carers, as well as building strong partnerships with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies. You are confident providing expert advice, education and consultation around acute mental illness, suicide risk, self-harm, substance use and other complex presentations. Grounded in recovery principles, you respect individual choice, dignity and strengths, and are motivated by making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and the wider community.
