Monash Health's General Genetics Service are looking for a data manager to join our friendly administration team.
About the Role
- Data Manager – General Genetics Service
- Part Time Permanent position (0.4ET) + Part Time 12 months contract (0.2EFT)
- Ideally one candidate for 0.6EFT
The Data Manager role is responsible for ensuring the clinical health information systems for the General Genetics Service are managed and maintained to meet the needs of the clinical service. This includes data collection, data entry, data verification, running queries, performing audits ensuring data integrity, genetic department network drive organisation and maintenance, and creating and maintaining pedigrees, as necessary. In addition to specialist technical expertise, the Data Manager will provide support within the team ensuring that:

Staff are trained effectively

The highest levels of data integrity are practised

Reports are generated for internal and external parties (as required) including quarterly activity statistics for the Department of Health

New systems and processes are developed (as required) to facilitate the clinical and research needs of the service.
Shifts will be Monday to Friday (no weekend work).
About You
Communication skills and teamwork are important in this role as you will be working in a diverse team. You are a proactive and experienced data manager who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Working in a hospital environment doesn’t faze you and you are able to maintain and demonstrate integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence.
The successful candidate is required to have either, or both:
-
extensive technical experience, able to set up and maintain clinical information systems such as FamBIS, Progeny and/or TrakGene, and/or
-
demonstrated leadership experience, including experience in file and data management, data analysis, workload management and process improvement in a closely related field.
The Data Manager will have considerable experience, established technical skills and leadership responsibilities/duties without line management responsibilities.
Time management skills are essential, including capacity to prioritise effectively to meet the requirements of the position.
