About You
You’re an experienced Mental Health Nurse or Allied Health Professional (Social Work/Occupational Therapy) with 3+ years’ clinical leadership experience in mental health services. You excel at building partnerships, driving recovery-oriented care, and leading multidisciplinary teams in complex environments. Your strengths include:
- Expertise in biosocial assessments, risk management, and trauma-informed interventions.
- Proven ability to embed clinical governance and collaborate with diverse stakeholders (consumers, families, NGOs, GPs).
- Passion for service innovation, particularly in community-based mental health or integrated care models.
About Us
Monash Health is Victoria’s largest public health service, delivering care to over 3.6 million patients annually. Our Mental Health Program serves nearly one million people in southeast Melbourne, with a focus on equity, inclusivity, and the Child Safe Standards. As part of Victoria’s mental health reforms, the new Dandenong Mental Health & Wellbeing Local (a partnership with MIND Australia, Thorne Harbour Health, and others) will provide accessible, culturally safe care for adults with mental health and AOD needs.
About the Role
Lead Monash Health’s clinical team within the Dandenong Local, ensuring seamless integration with consortium partners. Key responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day clinical operations, staff recruitment, and compliance with Monash Health/MIND governance frameworks.
- Clinical Excellence: Deliver high-quality assessments, crisis interventions, and care coordination for complex cases.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster collaboration with GPs, community agencies, and lived-experience networks.
- Service Development: Drive continuous improvement aligned with the Lived Experience Governance Framework.
Requirements
- Essential:
- Nursing: AHPRA registration + Postgrad Diploma in Mental Health Nursing.
- Allied Health: AASW accreditation (Social Work) or AHPRA registration (OT) + 3+ years’ mental health experience.
- Expertise in dual diagnosis (AOD/mental health) and trauma-informed care.
- Strong knowledge of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Act 2022.
