We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Consultant – Paediatric Renal to join us on a part-time (60hrs per fortnight), permanent basis working out of Monash Children’s Hospital.

About the role
The purpose of the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC), Paediatric Renal is to provide expert care, assessment and advice to patients living with kidney disease, their families, carers and community supports. The role will utilise advanced theoretical and clinical skills to support expert clinical care and be an essential part of the paediatric Nephrology team.
The CNC, Paediatric Renal is an expert renal nurse who provides leadership and education, overseeing care and coordination of complex renal patients including haemodialysis, therapeutic plasma exchange, peritoneal dialysis and paediatric renal transplant services for patients under the care of Nephrology and other Monash Children’s Hospital (MCH) departments under the direction of the Lead Nephrologist.
The role will be responsible for:
- Providing expert clinical leadership and advanced care for paediatric patients across the full renal pathway, including haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, plasma exchange and kidney transplantation
- Delivering comprehensive, family-centred care while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage acute and chronic kidney disease in children
- Leading clinical coordination, education, and quality improvement initiatives, supporting patients, families and healthcare teams across hospital and community settings
What you need
- Extensive recent and relevant clinical experience in a Paediatric Renal Unit
- Demonstrated experience in Paediatric haemodialysis, plasma exchange and peritoneal dialysis including indications and complications
- Demonstrated knowledge of the care and complications associated with Acute Renal Failure and Chronic Kidney Disease
