Clinical Nurse Consultant, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) – Grade B

Gastroenterology | Monash Medical Centre, Clayton | 0.6 EFT, Part Time Ongoing

Bring your advanced IBD nursing expertise to Victoria's largest gastroenterology unit and help shape a growing nurse-led model of care.

About the Opportunity

Monash Health is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant to join our IBD service in an ongoing 0.6 EFT role based at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton. Working across a network that cares for more than 700 patients on biologic therapies, you'll deliver expert, autonomous clinical consultancy and play a central role in our nurse-led IBD clinics, Virtual Biologic clinic, IBD Helpline and fortnightly IBD MDT.

This is a genuine advanced-practice opportunity for a nurse who is ready to work with limited direction, manage a defined caseload independently, and lead improvements to how IBD care is delivered.

In this role you will:

  • Provide expert clinical consultancy and advanced clinical judgement in the assessment, planning and management of patients with inflammatory bowel disease, within an agreed scope of practice
  • Deliver and coordinate nurse-led IBD clinics, and provide first-line specialist advice through the IBD Helpline and Virtual Biologic clinic
  • Support newly diagnosed patients from our Emergency Departments and wards through to ambulatory and nurse-led care
  • Lead the operational and clinical aspects of S100 and compassionate-use medication access
  • Develop clinical resources, pathways and models of care, and drive service improvement across the IBD service
  • Contribute to education, research and quality-improvement activity across the multidisciplinary team

About You:

  • Registered Nurse (Division 1) with current AHPRA registration and substantial post-registration and specialty experience consistent with Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade B
  • Postgraduate qualification relevant to the specialty (gastroenterology preferred), or equivalent advanced knowledge and skills
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical expertise in IBD, including biologic and S100/complex-drug therapies
  • Proven ability to practise autonomously, lead service improvement and work collaboratively as a recognised clinical resource
  • High-level communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with a genuine commitment to evidence-based practice

Why Monash Health?

You'll join a large, well-supported gastroenterology team with strong medical and nursing leadership, an active clinical trials unit, and clear pathways for professional development. As a not-for-profit health service, we offer generous salary packaging, ongoing education and support, and access to employee wellbeing programs.

Applications should include a cover letter, current CV and a response to the key selection criteria.
