Based at Monash Medical Centre Clayton, our multidisciplinary team delivers specialist fertility assessment, investigation and treatment, supporting patients throughout every stage of their fertility journey. About the Role

Join our team as a Clinical Nurse Consultant / Clinical Midwife Consultant – Fertility on a full-time ongoing basis, based at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton.

 

Working under the leadership of the Nurse Manager, Monash Health Fertility, you will play a key clinical leadership role within our specialist fertility service. As an advanced practice clinician, you will provide expert fertility nursing care, lead nurse-led outpatient clinics, collaborate closely with fertility specialists and the multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the ongoing growth of this innovative public fertility program.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver advanced clinical assessment and management for fertility patients.
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments for new and review patients within nurse-led outpatient clinics.
  • Review and follow up diagnostic investigations to support timely, evidence-based treatment planning.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans that optimise fertility outcomes.
  • Provide expert clinical advice and education to colleagues across the fertility service and wider Monash Health.
  • Work collaboratively with fertility specialists, medical staff, embryologists, counsellors, dietitians and diagnostic services.
  • Participate in quality improvement, research and service development initiatives.
  • Promote excellence in patient-centred care while ensuring compliance with RTAC standards and the Assisted Reproductive Treatment Act 2021.

 

About You

You are an experienced fertility nurse or midwife who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and advancing fertility services within the public health system. You bring advanced clinical expertise, excellent communication skills and enjoy working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Significant clinical experience in fertility nursing and/or fertility midwifery.
  • Advanced assessment, clinical decision-making and patient management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to influence clinical practice.
  • A holistic, compassionate and person-centred approach to fertility care.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with a methodical approach to clinical practice.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience contributing to quality improvement, education and/or research activities.
  • An understanding of current trends, challenges and developments in Assisted Reproductive Treatment.

 

Mandatory requirements:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife with AHPRA.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in a related specialty, or willingness to undertake postgraduate study.
  • Demonstrated experience working within fertility services.
