About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Structural Heart Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) to join the Ambulatory Services team at the Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH). This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of Australia's leading Structural Heart Disease (SHD) programs, supporting patients undergoing innovative transcatheter and structural heart interventions. 

As the Structural Heart CNC, you will be the central coordinator for patients referred for specialist structural heart therapies, including TAVI, MitraClip, Left Atrial Appendage Closure and other emerging transcatheter interventions. You will provide expert clinical leadership, coordinate complex patient journeys from referral through to procedure and follow-up, and work closely with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, imaging specialists, research teams and multidisciplinary stakeholders.  

This highly autonomous role combines advanced clinical practice, service coordination, quality improvement, research support and patient advocacy. You will triage referrals, coordinate multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, manage procedural waitlists, provide education and support to patients and families, and ensure patients receive timely access to world-class structural heart care.  

The successful applicant will also play an important role in supporting clinical research and maintaining national registry requirements, contributing to the continued growth and innovation of the Structural Heart Disease program.  

About You 

You are a highly skilled cardiac nurse with exceptional organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You thrive in a fast-paced specialist environment and are passionate about delivering patient-centred care while driving service excellence and innovation. To be successful in this role, you will have: 

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA 

• Postgraduate qualifications in Cardiac Nursing 

• Minimum three years' experience in cardiac nursing 

• Demonstrated experience coordinating complex patient care pathways 

• Experience in cardiology research or clinical trials 

• The ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
