About the Role

Join our team as a Clinical Nurse Educator in a part time, ongoing position working out of Casey Hospital, Paediatric Ward and our Early Parenting Centre.

 

In this role, the CNE will be responsible for providing clinical and educational support to staff across both sites within the Monash Health organisation. Some of your specific accountability's will include:

  • Providing contemporary education that promotes best practice standards   
  • Providing clinical support to staff of all proficiency levels, novice to expert   
  • Demonstrating and promoting best practice standards   
  • Working collaboratively with the leadership team including the multi-disciplinary team   
  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop targeted training programs  

 

About Us

Casey Children’s Ward is a 20 bed unit that supports the care of patients from birth to 18 years of age, offering a diverse mix of medical and surgical services. We work in an area that has a mixed socioeconomic and culturally diverse population and we are exposed to a broad range of clinical presentations. Our experienced Nursing staff thrive on the challenges and pace of the unit and as part of this team at Casey Children’s you will be presented with a number of possibilities to progress your career.

 

The Early Parenting Centre (EPC) in Casey, provides specialist support for Victorian families with children from birth to four years of age.  The centre delivers flexible, targeted services that aim to enhance the parent-child relationship to support parents with strategies to achieve their parenting goals in areas such as sleep and settling, child behaviour and parent and child health and wellbeing.  

 

About You

You are an experienced paediatric and/ or neonatal nurse with advanced communication and interpersonal skills and a willingness to commit to team work and ongoing professional development that align with our programs, values and vision.

 

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Minimum four years’ experience in an acute Paediatric or Neonatal clinical setting
  • Post graduate qualification in Paediatrics/Neonatal nursing/ Maternal Child Health Nursing 
  • Understanding of requirements and challenges of providing patient/family centred care
  • Understanding of the Victorian Early Parenting Framework and model of care
  • Ability to ensure workforce have clinical support to promote best practice outcomes for patient care across medical, surgical cohorts
