Our Nursing and Midwifery Education team plays a critical role preparing a responsive, capable, and highly skilled intensive care nursing workforce. We have available opportunities for a Clinical Nurse Educator – Intensive Care to join our Nursing and Midwifery Education team. We have a permanent full-time position primarily based at Dandenong ICU and a full-time parental leave position primarily based at Clayton ICU.
As a Clinical Nurse Educator in the intensive care unit, you will:

Deliver and support contemporary, evidence-based education aligned with best practice in intensive care

Design, develop, and implement engaging ICU specific learning programs and resources

Support staff development across all practice levels, building capability and confidence in a high acuity environment
-
Demonstrate and promote clinical excellence integrating transferable critical care expertise into intensive care practice.

Work collaboratively with ICU leadership, multidisciplinary teams, and clinical support nurses

Use frameworks—including the Professional Development Framework—to build a flexible, skilled, and future ready ICU workforce

About You
You are an experienced and highly skilled critical care nurse, with either established or emerging intensive care expertise. You are passionate about education and committed to best practice. Intensive Care Nurse who is passionate about education and committed to best practice. You enjoy coaching, supporting learners, and contributing to a positive and engaged learning culture.
You bring:

Strong clinical expertise in intensive care/critical care nursing and a commitment to high-quality care

A collaborative approach and well-developed communication skills
-
Developing leadership skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
-
Initiative, adaptability, and the ability to work independently when needed
-
An understanding of diverse teaching and learning styles, with experience designing, delivering, and evaluating education across various modalities
What You Need:

Current AHPRA registration
-
Completed or currently undertaking postgraduate qualifications in Intensive Care Nursing
-
Previous experience as an educator, facilitator, or clinical support nurse within the intensive care environment
-
Exposure to a leadership /quality or governance role would also be beneficial
