About the Role

Join our team as a Clinical Nurse Educator in a part time, ongoing position working out of Monash Children’s Hospital – Children’s Cancer Centre (CCC) at Clayton.

 

In this role, the CNE will be responsible for providing clinical and educational support to staff within the Children’s Cancer Centre and across the Monash Health organisation. Some of your specific accountability's will include:

 

  • Providing contemporary education that promotes best practice standards
  • Working closely with the Nurse Manager to develop educational strategies that best meets the team requirements
  • Developing and creatively delivering engaging content for the CCC Transition to Speciality Practice program
  • Supporting postgraduate certificate students through the delivery of Monash Health specific content and completing assessments and appraisals
  • Clinical support to staff of all proficiency levels, novice to expert 
  • Demonstrating and promoting best practice standards 
  • Helping to ensure that through a highly skilled and educated workforce our patients receive safe and high-quality care at Monash Health
  • Working collaboratively with the leadership team including the multi-disciplinary team 
  • Teaching and facilitation of post graduate level programs

 

About Us

The Children’s Cancer Centre, is located within Monash Children’s Hospital, and aims to provide exemplary care for our paediatric oncology and haematology cohort. The clinical trials team within the centre focuses on providing these patients with a broad range of treatment options through a variety of domestic and international clinical trials and research projects. The Children’s Cancer Centre is involved in a diverse range of research, including; randomised controlled trials, patient registries, biological studies and an established biobank.

 

About You

You are an experienced paediatric oncology nurse with advanced communication and interpersonal skills and a willingness to commit to team work and ongoing professional development that align with our programs, values and vision.

 

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

 

  • Commitment to quality clinical care and sound clinical skills 
  • An ability to create and deliver innovative clinical education to engage the contemporary learner
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team 
  • Ability to show initiative and work independently when required 
  • Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of Paediatric Oncology
  • A well-developed understanding of different teaching and learning styles 

 

In addition, the following attributes will be highly regarded:

  • Completion of, or working towards postgraduate qualifications in education/leadership
