Advance your career as a Clinical Research Coordinator at Monash Cardiovascular Research Centre located at first ever Heart Hospital 

 

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic Clinical Research Coordinator who is familiar with the care of cardiovascular patients, to coordinate clinical trials conducted by the Monash Cardiovascular Research Centre in our new purpose built clinical trials space in the Victorian Heart Hospital.  We are a busy and expanding research unit participating in an increasing number of major international, multi-centre clinical trials, including first in human studies and investigator driven research and are at the forefront of cardiovascular research. 

This role is key to ensuring the delivery of high-quality research across clinical and academic projects. Under the guidance of the manager and team leaders, the Clinical Research Coordinator will oversee and execute research projects in line with study protocols, Monash Health's Standard Operating Procedures, Human Research Ethics Committee approvals, Site Authorisation, and Good Clinical Research Practice standards set by the International Conference on Harmonisation. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Conducting clinical studies and audits 

  • Managing randomized trials 

  • Providing direct and indirect clinical trial-related care within your scope of practice 

  • Preparing and submitting ethics and governance documentation 

  • Contributing to conference abstracts and presentations

Monash Cardiovascular Research Centre 

The Monash Cardiovascular Research Centre (MCRC) is a self-funding, independent research group based within the VHH. We are formally recognised as the cardiovascular research arm of Monash Heart. 

 

About You 

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled nurse who is passionate about research and person-centred care. To be successful in this role, you will meet the following qualifications and demonstrate key competencies: 

Nursing Qualifications: 

  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA 

  • A current record of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as required by the NMBA 

  • A strong commitment to person-centred care, best practice standards, and the Monash Health Nursing and Midwifery Foundations of Care 

  • Adherence to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia’s Registration Standards, Professional Codes, and Guidelines 

In addition to the above, you will also possess: 

  • Strong organisational skills with a proactive and self-driven approach 

  • Sound clinical judgment and expertise 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities 

  • Proficient in using electronic data management systems and creating presentations 

  • Experience in educating others about clinical studies and research projects 

  • In-depth understanding of the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research and relevant regulatory standards 

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting clinical trials 

  • Capable of collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team 

  • Post-graduate experience in cardiovascular nursing is preferred 

  • Committed advocate for Nursing/Midwifery research within the organisation
