About the Department / Program

The iIMPROVE Program is dedicated to improving emergency care through evidence-based, sustainable change. Our multidisciplinary team brings together consumers, clinicians, researchers, implementation scientists, health economists, biostatisticians, knowledge translation experts, policymakers, and national partners. Unlike many improvement initiatives that rely primarily on education and local guidelines, iIMPROVE focuses on implementation science to achieve lasting, system-wide change. We use evidence, data, and continuous co-design with consumers and clinicians to develop practical solutions that can be successfully embedded into everyday healthcare. By building implementation science capability and working closely with health services and policymakers, the iIMPROVE Program is driving sustainable improvements in emergency care and helping shape practice and policy across Australia. 

About the Role  

Join our team as a Clinical Research Coordinator on a 0.6FTE, fixed term (ending Dec 2028) to work at MCHRI based at Clayton.The Clinical Research Coordinator will provide research and administrative support to the iIMPROVE group at Monash Emergency Research Collaborative (MERC), working closely with senior research staff to support the delivery of clinical research projects within the implementation science framework. The role will contribute to study coordination, data management, ethics and governance activities, and communication with internal and external collaborators. The appointee will work with support, guidance and direction from the Senior Project Manager, iIMPROVE and the iIMPROVE team. This is an opportunity for a highly organised individual with strong attention to detail and an interest in clinical and/or implementation science research to contribute to impactful research outcomes.  

• Provide administrative support across clinical research activities, including ethics and governance submissions, study documentation and project coordination  

• Support participant recruitment, research visits, study monitoring and data verification activities 

• Assist investigators in day-to-day conduct of multiple concurrent studies. 

• Preparation and maintenance of study documents  including maintaining source documents, Investigator Site Files and Trial Master Files. 

• Respond to data queries and ensure documentation is audit ready. 

• Ensuring studies are conducted in accordance with regulatory and ethical guidelines as well as Ethics approved protocols and funder reporting requirements. 

• Prepare manuscripts drafts with investigators 

• Submit papers for peer review

About You  

To be successful in this healthcare role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes.  

Essential:

• Demonstrated skills in the coordination of data collection, data entry and analysis using Excel. 

• Experience in working with computer based data acquisition and analysis systems. 

• Experience in working with management of large and complex datasets equivalent to post graduate (honours) study or higher. 

• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team, including the ability to liaise and negotiate with research, clinical and nursing staff. 

• Demonstrated organisational skills including the demonstrated ability to maintain a high standard of data record keeping and a demonstrated ability to meet competing deadlines. 

• Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills. 

• Ability to establish and maintain constructive working relationships with stakeholders both internal and external to the emergency network. 

• Experience in negotiating with multiple organisations and professional groups within a project management framework. 

• A commitment to confidentiality, total discretion and integrity. 

Desirable:

• Experience in the operations and administration of multi-centre clinical research. 

• Experience in data collection and with using SPSS 

• Experience and demonstrated skill using information technology systems applicable to research, e.g. cloud based data sharing, surveys platforms, and file transfer protocols.
