Employment Type:     Fixed term Full-time for 12 months with a view to extending

End Date:        March 2027
Hours pw:        30.4 hours (0.8 EFT) - 38 hours (1.0 EFT)
Salary range pa:    HS3

 

Position Summary 


We seek to fill a vital position in the MRFF-funded DO IT Women research project. The project develops and evaluates digital decision aids for women with PCOS, Early Menopause / Premature Ovarian Insufficiency and Unexplained Infertility that are developed from international evidence-based guidelines.
The Clinical Trial Manager will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and operational delivery of clinical trials in accordance with GCP, the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, local governance requirements, and study protocols. The role provides leadership across trial start up, conduct, monitoring, and close out, ensuring high quality data, participant safety, and efficient trial execution across multiple sites.


The role works closely with investigators, project and finance managers, ethics officers, and clinical teams to ensure trials are delivered on time, within scope, and to regulatory and ethical standards.
About Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (MCHRI), School of Public Health, Monash University and Monash Health
MCHRI sits under the Facility of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University. Established in 2005, MCHRI has grown from 3 to 180 staff and students. This is a partnership centre across Monash University and Monash Health and provides an implementation laboratory for research and translation embedded and integrated into healthcare. MCHRI works with broader reach across Monash Partners Academic Health Science Centre, nationally and internationally in our research and translation endeavours. Our vision is to create, synthesise, implement and translate clinical, health care and public health knowledge, underpinned by cross sector end user engagement, to deliver health impact. MCHRI has led organisational and individual leadership support programs in healthcare for nearly a decade.

About the Role


Key result areas
•    Establishing, implementing, and overseeing clinical trials to ensure smooth and compliant operational delivery.
•    Assist project manager in overseeing clinical trial budgets to ensure efficient, effective, and transparent financial management.
•    Providing leadership and direction to clinical trials support staff, including coaching, supervision, and capability development.
•    Managing patient recruitment processes to achieve appropriate and timely enrolment and trial delivery.
•    Engaging and liaising with internal and external stakeholders, acting as the primary contact for key research bodies.
•    Assist with continuous improvement cycles to optimise trial operations, quality, and efficiency.
•    Ensuring compliance with Australian regulatory, ethical, and institutional requirements through collaboration incl. data integrity, document quality, audit readiness and risk management.
•    Comply with Monash Health and Monash University policy, procedure and protocols relevant to the undertaken research.

 

About You


Essential skills / knowledge / experience
•    Tertiary qualification in Health Sciences, a clinical discipline, Project Management, or a related field.
•    Demonstrated experience coordinating or managing clinical trials in a healthcare or research setting.
•    Strong knowledge of GCP, the National Statement, and Australian regulatory requirements.
•    Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
•    Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across multidisciplinary teams.
•    Experience with trial documentation, data management systems, and quality assurance processes.
•    Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement in complex operational environments.

Desirable skills / knowledge / experience
•    Experience in a hospital, university, or medical research institute environment.
•    Qualifications in clinical research, health sciences, nursing, or a related field.
•    Experience supervising or mentoring research staff.
