About The Opportunity 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Trials and Research Manager to lead the operations of our cardiovascular clinical trials unit. This pivotal role will oversee all sponsored and investigator-initiated trials, ensuring excellence in trial conduct, regulatory compliance, and integration of research into clinical care. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning, coordination, budgeting, and oversight of clinical trials. 

  • Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary research team. 

  • Oversee ethics submissions, contract negotiations, and regulatory affairs. 

  • Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice and national ethical standards. 

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including sponsors, CROs, and Monash University. 

  • Drive strategic integration of research with clinical services and the Victorian Heart Institute. 

  • Maintain financial accountability and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. 

 

About You 

You are a seasoned research professional with: 

  • A qualification as a Registered Nurse or Medical Scientist. 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in clinical research, preferably in cardiovascular or critical care. 

  • Strong leadership and team management skills. 

  • Proven experience in budget and contract negotiation. 

  • Current Good Clinical Practice certification. 

  • A commitment to excellence, integrity, and patient-centred care. 

Desirable qualifications include a Master’s degree with a research component and membership in a relevant professional association.
