About the Role
Join our team as a Clinical Trial Assistant on a full time, fixed term basis (12 months with review to extension) to work at Monash Medical Centre based at Clayton. The Oncology Research department works primarily out of Monash Medical Centre and utilizes the facilities of the Monash Health Translation Precinct - a purpose built state of the art clinical trials unit. The oncology team is dividied into 6 medical streams - Lung, GI, GU, Breast, Early Phase and Gynae and an operations team which conduct 200 trials at any one time at various stages of development. The Clinical Trials Assistant is a pivitol administrative role within in each team, supporting both the Team Lead, study coordinators and investigators and indirectly the patients who are given the opportunity to receive the most up to date cancer treatment, whilst participating in the advancement of clinical research. The Clinical Trials Assistant role will give the sucessful candiate a broad understanding of the conduct and managment of clinical trials and will incoprorate to the following:
- Maintaining study site files
- Submiting and following up post approval ethics and governance submissions
- Maintaining the teams shared email account/s
- Working with with Clinical Research Organisation reps to conduct study monitoring
- Assisting with general administrative duties for clinical trials staff
About Us
The Oncology Research department works mainly out of Monash Medical Centre and utilizes the facilities of the Monash Health Translation Precinct - a purpose built state of the art clinical trials unit. The oncology team is dividied into 6 medical streams - Lung, GI, GU, Breast, Early Phase and Gynae and an operations team which conduct 200 trials at any one time at various stages of development, across all areas of medical oncology, and ranging from First in Human studies to large phase 3 pre marketing studies.
About You
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Administration experence
- Healthcare experience
- Understanding of medical terminology
- No mandatory qualifications or licences required but relevant science qualifications is preferrred
