About Colorectal Unit
The Colorectal Unit provides adult Colorectal services to Dandenong, Clayton, Casey, Cranbourne and Moorabbin. The unit is staffed with 9 consultants, 2 fellows, 3 registrars, 2 HMOs and 5 interns. The Colorectal unit carries out more than 400 major colorectal resections a year for malignant and benign conditions as well as managing a range of anorectal conditions. It has a well-established colorectal cancer multi-disciplinary team to manage complex colorectal cancers. The unit is accredited by the Colorectal Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ) to train post-fellowship surgeons in Colorectal Surgery. The unit is also accredited to train 2 SET trainees from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). It also has a dedicated research fellow supporting the unit’s clinical research activities.
About the Role
This position is a fractional position for 10.53hrs per week.
The role will support and assist the Director of Colorectal Surgery, Monash Health in the provision of high-quality care at Monash Health sites, consistent with the Monash Health values. The incumbent will also:
- Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care.
- Be available to medical colleagues for consultation and liaison as appropriate regarding patient care.
- Support academic, research, education, training & supervision (both undergraduate and postgraduate) roles
- Contribute to the professional and corporate life in Victoria's largest public health service by participation in appropriate committees and educational platforms.
- Contribute to ongoing service improvement and clinical and workforce innovation to ensure Monash Health provides high quality accessible healthcare
What you need:
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications
Fellowship of the RACS or equivalent
Membership with RACS and CSSANZ
