We’re seeking a Compliance Officer to support statutory obligations under the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 across our Mental Health Program.
About the Role
In this role, you’ll provide specialist advice, coordinate Mental Health Tribunal processes, monitor restrictive practices, and support compliance audits and reporting. You’ll work closely with clinical teams, Tribunal Officers, leadership groups and external agencies to ensure consistent, rights‑based practice.

Support compliance with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022

Coordinate and quality‑check Mental Health Tribunal documentation

Monitor and report on restrictive practices across clinical settings

Contribute to audits, data reviews and improvement initiatives

Identify emerging compliance risks and escalate appropriately

Collaborate with Informatics and BI teams to strengthen data systems

Provide guidance to Tribunal and Audit Officers
About You
You bring strong judgement, attention to detail and a commitment to safe, ethical mental health care. You have experience in compliance, governance, legal or regulatory roles, ideally within healthcare or the public sector. You’re confident analysing data, interpreting legislation and supporting multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications:

Tertiary qualification in health, law, social sciences, public administration, business, compliance or similar; or equivalent experience

Knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 (or ability to rapidly acquire it)

Experience with statutory, tribunal or regulatory processes is highly valued
