About Monash Anaesthesia
Providing anaesthetic support to 8 Monash Health facilities, Monash Health currently employs over 150 Specialist Anaesthetists and supports the Monash/Southern Anaesthetic training program, with close to 100 trainees. We cover an extensive range of tertiary surgical disciplines.
Monash Health is looking for Consultant Anaesthetists to work within Monash Health alongside other anaesthetists working at Dandenong and Cranbourne ICC, Casey, Clayton, Moorabbin and Monash Children’s and the Victoria Heart hospitals.
A significant EFT is available, with a combination of Fractional and Full time positions, with the positions requiring a minimum commitment to Monash Health of 20 hours per week.
About The Role
To support and assist the Service Medical Director and Heads of Units, Anaesthesia in the provision of high quality anaesthetic services across Monash health sites, consistent with Monash Health values.

Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care.

Be available to medical colleagues for consultation and liaison as appropriate regarding patient care.

Support academic, research, education, training & supervision (both undergraduate and postgraduate) roles in the Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, Monash Health.

Contribute to the professional and corporate life in Victoria's largest public health service by participation in appropriate committees and educational platforms.

Contribute to ongoing service improvement and clinical and workforce innovation to ensure Monash Health provides high quality accessible anaesthetic services

About You
What you need:
-
Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
-
Fellowship of the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.
-
Experience in clinical quality assurance and improvement process is required.
-
For full Paediatric scope of practice recognition, a 12 month fellowship, in a recognised tertiary Paediatric hospital, is required
-
A valid Employee Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required for all medical staff at Monash Health.

A minimum of a 12-month fellowship in a recognised tertiary cardiac centre hospital is required
-
A recognised qualification and or experience consistent with ANZCA professional document PG46 related to perioperative transoesophageal echocardiography:
-
An Australian or New Zealand university qualification in echocardiography at diploma level or equivalent, or
-
A pass in a board examination in echocardiography from the US National Board of Echocardiography (Examination of Special Competence in Adult Echocardiography, Examination of Special Competence in Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography), or equivalent, or
-
A pass in an examination in echocardiography from the British Society of Echocardiography and Association of Cardiothoracic Anaesthetists or the European Association of Echocardiography and European Association of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiologists, or equivalent, or
-
A diploma in diagnostic ultrasound focused on echocardiography from the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine, or equivalent, or
-
A fellowship in echocardiography of at least 12 months duration, or
-
Possess the necessary cumulative experience before the ratification of ANZCA PG 46
