The Team & Role

As an Emergency Physician at Monash Medical Centre, you will:

  • Provide high-quality emergency medical care across all areas of the Emergency Department.
  • Deliver expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of emergency presentations, including critically ill and injured patients.
  • Provide consultant leadership and clinical decision-making within a dynamic 24-hour service
  • Support patient flow and service delivery while maintaining excellence in patient safety and quality care
  • Supervise, teach and mentor registrars, HMOs, interns and medical students
  • Participate in departmental education, simulation and professional development activities
  • Contribute to research, innovation and evidence-based practice initiatives
  • Lead and support quality improvement, clinical governance and patient safety programs
  • Participate in non-clinical portfolios, departmental projects and service development activities
  • Work collaboratively with nursing, allied health and specialist teams across Monash Health

 

About You


You are a motivated Emergency Physician who is committed to delivering safe, compassionate and evidence-based care.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Medical degree from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Current Specialist Registration with AHPRA
  • Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM)
  • Demonstrated experience and clinical expertise appropriate to Senior Medical Staff practice
  • Commitment to maintaining continuing professional development and professional standards
  • Demonstrated understanding of patient safety, clinical governance and medico-legal responsibilities.

Desirable

  • Experience in clinical leadership or service development
  • Research, audit and critical appraisal skills
  • Quality improvement and innovation experience
  • Involvement in undergraduate or postgraduate medical education
  • Postgraduate qualifications in leadership, education, research or healthcare management.
