About the Department and Role
The Monash Medical Centre ICU is a 27 bed tertiary unit with a wide scope of practice including medical, surgical, thoracic, neurosurgical and obstetric patients in addition to campus wide consultation, outreach and emergency response services. The unit is staffed with full time and part time consultants who work in a multidisciplinary team and provide supervision and teaching of specialist registrar trainees, residents, medical students and other staff. The junior medical team comprises a transition year trainee, 23 junior and senior registrars from CICM, ANZCA, RACP and ACEM and 8 residents. The ICU has a dedicated active research team with multiple current research projects including ANZICS CTG and other sponsored multicentre trials.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the position of Adult Intensive Care Specialist at Monash Medical Centre Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Applicants must hold FCICM and the position is offered as an initial 1 year appointment with the opportunity to apply for a permanent role beyond this period. Terms and conditions of employment are as per the standard Monash Health Intensivist contract.
What you need:
Specialist registration in Intensive Care Medicine with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications
Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine
Working with Children's Certificate
