Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH) 
The Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH)  - a joint initiative between Monash Health and Monash University is Australia's first dedicated cardiac hospital, delivering innovative cardiac care supported by world-class research facilities.
 
We are seeking an experienced Intensive Care Specialist to support the ICU Director in delivering high-quality, patient-centred intensive care services within our specialist cardiac environment.

 

About the Role

The VHH ICU manages a complex case-mix including:
 Elective and emergency cardiac and aortic surgical patients
Acute cardiology patients

ECMO (including eCPR)
Temporary mechanical circulatory support
ICU-led TOE and outreach services


The successful candidate will

  • Provide expert clinical care in complex cardiac intensive care
  • Support interdisciplinary excellence in clinical practice
  • Contribute to education, training, and research
  • Assist in implementing innovative models of care

 

About You

You will have

  • Significant current experience managing complex cardiac surgical and cardiology ICU patients
  • Demonstrated leadership and commitment to high-quality patient care
     

Desirable

  • Experience in temporary mechanical circulatory support
  • Formal qualification in echocardiography
     

This is a 12-month fixed-term appointment at 0.5 EFT, with the potential for extension by mutual agreement.

What you need

  • Specialist registration in Intensive Care Medicine with the Australian Health Practitioner
  • Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications
  • Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care MedicineWorking with Children's Certificate
