Monash Children's Hospital is looking for a paediatric neurologist for 12 months from October 2025.
This position offers an opportunity for both newly qualified consultants looking to consolidate their practice and experienced specialists seeking a supportive environment. Our service provides comprehensive care across epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, paediatric stroke, neuroimmunology, neurogenetics, nerve conduction studies and EMG, and long-term EEG monitoring. The role involves inpatient and outpatient care, participation in the on-call roster and contribution to multidisciplinary clinics, teaching, and service development.

About Paediatric Neurology
Paediatric Neurology at Monash Children's Hospital provides inpatient, outpatient, and consultative care for children with a wide range of neurological conditions including epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, neurogenetic and neurometabolic disorders, stroke, and neurodevelopmental disabilities. The unit works closely with other paediatric specialties, general paediatrics and with adult neurology to provide comprehensive and lifespan care. The service includes:

About the Role
The successful applicant will contribute to the delivery of excellent paediatric neurology care across the Monash Children's network and include inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities, participation in weekly MDTs and other quality and safety activities, research, and training of junior staff. The position is based at Monash Children's Hospital, Clayton and will be for 12 months in the first instance. An adjunct University appointment may be considered.
What you need:

Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications (MBBS or Equivalent)

Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with certification in Paediatric Neurology
