About the Role & You:

  • Fractional Ongoing Paediatric Surgeon Position (26.6 hours per week) 

  • Provision of high quality Paediatric Surgical Services at Monash Children’s consistent with the Monash Health core values. 

  • Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care and departmental development 

  • Be available to colleagues for consultation and liaison as appropriate regarding patient care. 

  • Participation in consultant paediatric general surgical on call roster  

  • Contribute to the professional and corporate life of Monash Health by participation in appropriate committees. 

You will be responsible for: 

  • Routine surgical operating lists at Monash  

  • Out-patient clinics at Monash including FDU clinic 

  • Emergency surgery and patient care as required  

  • Attend weekly multi-disciplinary meetings 

  • Teaching of medical students 

  • Bedside education and training for junior medical staff 

  • Support, training and supervision of junior medical staff including accredited trainee 

  • Attendance at hospital / departmental committees as required 

What you need:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) 

  • Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications 

  • FRACS or equivalent College Fellowship  

  • Working with Children's Check
