About the Department
Adult Hospital in the Home (HITH) is a 170-bed inpatient substitution service that provides medical, surgical and cancer care across Monash Health’s catchment. It is part of the Community Program at Monash Health. In addition to traditional HITH cohorts, we care for patient groups including solid-tumor cancer, hematological malignancy, gastroenterology, cardiac failure, palliative care and COVID-19 care. HITH exists at the convergence of primary care, outpatient care and inpatient care, and enables choice for location of inpatient level care provision.
Consultant Adult Hospital in the Home
Applications for suitably qualified medical practitioners for the position Consultant Adult Hospital in the Home. The position is offered on a 4-12 hours per week basis depending on negotiation.
About the Role
We are now looking to appoint a:

Fractional (part time) Medical Specialist for 4-12 hours per week
About You
You are a dynamic medical professional, described as enthusiastic and motivated to perform at your best every day, you demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Hospital in the Home experience is preferred but not required. You can also demonstrate:

What you need
Medical Specialist/Consultant (Senior Medical staff):

A medical qualification from a registered tertiary institution and Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) with a current annual practicing certificate is essential. FRACGP or FACEM preferred.

Previous Experience in HITH is highly preferred.

Fellowship or membership of the appropriate College or Association within Australia as recognised by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) including maintenance of CPD and good standing as required by AHPRA for the maintenance of Specialist Registration.

All applicants must be awarded Scope of Clinical Practice by the Monash Health Credentialing committee. Information presented for application will be presented to the committee during the selection process, and all appointments are subject to maintenance of SoP within the clinical services capability framework in the facilities in which clinical work is to be undertaken. This process must be completed prior to offer of employment.

Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
