Our Journey
Monash Health Dental Services are looking for dental assistants to join our dental team. This is a casual role based at one of our locations; Berwick, Clayton, Cranbourne, Dandenong, Pakenham, Springvale. Monash Health Dental Services is one of the largest public dental clinics and our workforce includes dentists, oral health therapists, prosthetists, dental assistants, receptionists and administration staff.
A Day in the Life
Dental assistants play a vital role in the dental team by enhancing the efficiency of the dental practice and providing care to patients. They are responsible for ensuring all the necessary equipment is set up for the clinician and following infection control standards.
A dental assistant’s day will begin with routine tasks such as reviewing the day’s patient schedule, organising the necessary paperwork, and preparing the clinic. They’ll also be involved in welcoming patients, getting them settled in for treatment, and making sure they feel at ease. After the patient has been seen, the dental assistant will efficiently clean the dental surgery and prepare it for the next patient. This aspect of the role requires effective time management and the ability to thorough understanding of Infection Prevention protocols.

Welcome patients and prepare them for their dental procedure

Ensure the treatment room is prepared with all necessary instruments

Provide the Dental Practitioner with instruments and materials as required during treatment

Ensure the practice room is kept clean and tidy

Process dental x-rays

Clean and sterilise all instruments after treatment
About You:

What you need:

Certificate III in Dental Assisting
