Monash Health’s Nursing and Midwifery Education and Strategy (NaMES) team fulfills a business-critical function bringing to life the strategic objectives we’ve committed to achieving within the largest workgroup of the organisation. We now have an opportunity to join us in an influential senior leadership role, with responsibility to support the Director to lead the education portfolio and initiatives across the nursing and midwifery workforce.  This is a temporary, full-time role. 

 

About the Role 

This is a pivotal role, reporting to the Director, Nursing and Midwifery Education & Strategy with accountability for four key streams of work: 

  • Oversight of the Nursing and Midwifery education framework.  

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality contemporary nursing and midwifery education and innovation in learning and design delivery 

  • Leading significant learner intakes from undergraduate to postgraduate across Nursing and Midwifery; and 

  • Lead the development of a high-performance team to deliver and efficient, effective and high-quality nursing and midwifery education service   

Contributing to the planning, development and implementation of the organisation wide learning strategy and capability framework with appropriate measures, ensuring accessibility of learning opportunities across a diverse workforce is an additional core element of the role.   

 

About You

As a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse and Midwife currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, you hold a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area. Thriving in a complex work environment, you are comfortable dealing with ambiguity, and you are recognised for your integrity, being well respected by both your teams and by those you advise. You lead by example, adopting a transparent approach that recognises the contribution of all, and you are known for delivering well-researched, high quality, reliable advice and reporting.  With an unwavering commitment to quality, at all times you ensure your recommendations are supported by relevant evidence and are thoroughly researched, accurate and complete in nature. You can demonstrate significant success in a senior leadership role in a multi-site health service and have proven your ability to lead large scale change, applying innovative solutions that support and advance nursing and midwifery practice. Your deep understanding of the complexity of the environmental factors impacting nursing and midwifery along with your well-developed engagement, negotiation and project management skills will position you for success.
