About the Role:

Are you a passionate Dietitian looking to make a real impact? We’re seeking a Grade 2 Dietitian to join our team on a part-time, ongoing basis (0.60 EFT / 45.6 hours per fortnight) at the Victorian Heart Hospital.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your skills and experience - perfect for an experienced Grade 1 ready for the next step or a Grade 2 seeking a fresh, rewarding challenge.

 

You’ll provide care to adult inpatients and outpatients across critical care, cardiology, and cardiac surgery in both public and private wards. The role also includes individual consultations, group facilitation in cardiac rehabilitation programs, and involvement in research and quality initiatives.

 

 

About Us:

This position is within the Nutrition and Dietetics Department that services Monash Medical Centre, Moorabbin Hospital and the Victorian Heart Hospital.  We are a large, integrated and cohesive team that is empowered and supports each other to deliver patient-centred, effective and evidence-based care. 

 

We provide services across the patient continuum of care, including acute care, rehabilitation, and prevention. Monthly after-hours work (until 9pm) is required to support nutrition education within the cardiac rehabilitation program.

 

Travel and work across Monash Health sites will also be required.

 

 

About You:

To thrive in this role, you will bring the following:

  • Experience in chronic disease management 
  • Experience in acute dietetics 
  • Demonstrated skills in individual nutrition counselling, motivational interviewing and outpatient clinic management 
  • Excellent facilitation skills for engaging delivery of group education  
  • Confident communication that enhances multidisciplinary teamwork  
  • Demonstrated clinical reasoning and prioritisation skills 
  • Demonstrated accountability whilst working autonomously 
  • Minimum 2 years experience preferred 

 

 Mandatory requirements of the role: 

  • Hold a Dietitians Australia (DA) accredited dietetics degree, or hold a DA mutually recognised dietetics degree from New Zealand, or have passed the Dietetic Skills Recognition (DSR) process
  • Eligible for DA membership and Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) status
  • Availability to work after hours (evenings to 9pm) to facilitate cardiac rehabilitation
  • Current Drivers Licence
