In a business first, and commencing operations in 2025, The Centre will become known as a centre of excellence for allied health in Victoria and beyond. Under the governance of The Victorian Centre for Advancement in Allied Health Steering Committee and working in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders, The Centre will deliver five key workforce initiatives for the allied health workforce in Victoria during its initial three-year term.
The first appointment to the entity will be this pivotal Director role. If appointed, you will lead a small team focused on engagement, partnerships, strategy, innovation, brand and outputs, with the aim of developing appropriate networks to enable The Centre to deliver on its mission and workplan.
This is a permanent, fulltime role, however requests to work part time will be considered.
About The Role
Reporting to and supported by the Chief Allied Health Officer, Monash Health, you will be accountable for managing a significant operating budget and if appointed, your key result areas will include:
- Building The Centre’s long term strategic plan in partnership with The Victorian Department of Health, health services, academic institutions, unions and our allied health workforce
- Developing supporting yearly workplans and associated tools to ensure the benefits of the strategy are realised
- Driving innovations to enhance the contribution and outputs of Victoria’s allied health workforce
- Leveraging your engaging and consultative leadership style to lead, support and develop three direct reports
- Oversight of The Centre’s key deliverables
About You
You hold an allied health qualification with AHPRA registration and/or eligibility for membership of your professional association (as applicable to your professional background). You also hold a relevant post graduate qualification.
You have extensive professional experience in the design and delivery of allied health workforce strategy and projects within and/or across health service environments.
You have proven experience partnering to drive thought leadership which shapes the way allied health professions work and a track record of delivery. You are research active and may be working towards a higher degree by research.
You are intimately familiar with health services operations and can demonstrate success in meeting strategic, project and operational objectives. You have worked extensively in workforce strategy as it relates to allied health and you possess sound financial judgement and management skills.
Regular presentations at Executive and Board level will be required and a relevant postgraduate qualification is expected, along with a current driver’s licence. Your communication, consultation, influencing and engagement skills will position you well for success in this exciting new role.
