The Mental Health Program serves consumers, their carers and families across the South-Eastern metropolitan region with bed-based, community and rehabilitation programs. We are excited to announce an exciting opportunity for a Discipline Senior Social Work within our large and dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with the Allied Health Mental Health leadership team, your Social Work Discipline Senior colleagues, Allied Health Educators, Allied Health Managers and Directors. You will ensure that Social workers across the Mental Health Program are qualified, credentialed and trained to provide effective care. 

 

About You

You have been developing your clinical, leadership and quality improvement skills and you are an accomplished Social Work professional known for your clinical expertise and leadership and ready to take this next step in your career. You lead by example, thrive working in a dynamic environment and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard of evidence informed care to all patients, families and carers. You are an advocate of Monash Health’s Strategic Guiding Principles.   

You Are Also:     

  • A Social Worker who demonstrates extensive specialist skills, knowledge and experience in implementing social work theory into practice to support the emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual well-being of consumers and their families. 

  • A recognised people leader who facilitates the best in others and collaborates thoughtfully holding a vision to promote best practice care for consumers their families and carers 

  • Excited to be accountable for and manage specific portfolios in our relentless pursuit of excellence    

What You Need:  

  • Bachelor of Social Work or Masters Social Work Qualifying OR Masters of Social Work, OR equivalent as assessed and approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)  
  • Eligible for ordinary membership of AASW (http://www.aasw.asn.au/)  

  • Written evidence of eligibility for AASW membership for overseas qualifications is required.  

  • Completion of a post graduate qualification in a relevant field  

  • Accredited Social Worker and/or Accredited Mental Health Social Workers (as approved by the AASW) preferred 

  • 10 years post qualifying experience as a Social Worker
