Senior Manager – Engineering and Infrastructure
Lead a high-impact portfolio delivering innovative infrastructure solutions across Victoria’s largest public health service.
About the Role
Monash Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager – Engineering and Infrastructure to lead key functions across Projects Delivery, Technical Advisory, and Assets and Compliance. This is a strategic leadership opportunity where you will shape how critical infrastructure is delivered and maintained, ensuring alignment with Monash Health’s long-term objectives, sustainability goals, and compliance frameworks.
This senior position is instrumental in delivering operational excellence, integrated decision-making, and innovation across multidisciplinary teams—driving high-quality outcomes for patients, staff, and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across Projects Delivery, Technical Advisory, and Assets & Compliance functions.
- Oversee the successful delivery of infrastructure and minor works projects—on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
- Ensure technical guidance and project decisions align with regulatory standards, engineering best practices, and Monash Health’s Emissions Reduction Plan.
- Lead asset lifecycle planning and improvement initiatives to ensure sustainability, compliance, and cost efficiency.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and integrated collaboration across all teams.
- Represent the department with internal and external stakeholders including the Department of Health, contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
- Support the Director of Capital & Infrastructure by stepping into delegated responsibilities and providing continuity of leadership when required.
About You
You are a strategic thinker with a proven track record in infrastructure project delivery, asset management, and engineering compliance. You are passionate about building systems that deliver long-term value and operational excellence. With strong leadership capability, you foster collaboration and continuous improvement while maintaining accountability and alignment with organisational objectives.
You will also bring:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline
- Postgraduate qualifications in project management, business, or similar
- Desirable: PMP, Prince2, Agile or Chartered credentials (e.g., CPEng, CFM, IFMA)
Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams across infrastructure, assets, and compliance
- Deep understanding of engineering design, project delivery frameworks, and long-term asset management (AMAF/ISO55000)
- Knowledge of statutory and regulatory environments in healthcare, government, or large public infrastructure
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million-dollar projects and optimise resources
- Strong stakeholder and contractor management skills
- Experience leading change, embedding systems, and driving continuous improvement
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels
