About the Role:
Join our team as an Environmental Services Assistant (ESA) on a part time ongoing basis to work at Monash Medical Centre based in Clayton
Being part of the Support Services team, and reporting to General Services Manager, ESAs are responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe hospital environment; not only for patients, but also for visitors and colleagues across Monash Health. Directly supporting patient recovery and staff safety, ESAs deliver high-quality environmental services across clinical and non-clinical areas.
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Delivering general and detailed cleaning of wards, offices, and public areas
- Ensuring adherence to infection prevention and control protocols at all times
- Adhering to safety protocols when using cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with safety guidelines
- Managing waste removal and disposal procedures safely and responsibly
- Maintaining cleaning schedules and documentation
- Reporting maintenance or safety hazards promptly
- Collaborating with clinical and support teams to deliver service excellence
- Ensuring patient privacy and dignity at all times
- Complete relevant workplace training modules
- Distribution and collection of linen.
- Cleaning of Theatres
- Floor Care

Days: Wednesday - Friday
Hours: 0630-1330

Position 3: Floor Care
Days: Wed- Friday Night shift
Hours: 2230-0700
Total hours per fortnight: 48
Position 4: Linen & Waste collection / General Cleaning
Days: Thurs – Sun Night shift
Hours: 2230-0700
Total hours per fortnight: 64
Position 5: Linen & Waste collection / General Cleaning
Days: Monday – Wednesday Night shift
Hours: 2230-0700
Total hours per fortnight: 48 Hours
Position 6: Floor Care & CSSD cleaning
Days: Sunday& Monday 0630-1500
Tuesday – Thursday 0630-1300
Total hours per fortnight: 68
Position 7: Emergency Department
Days: Monday – Friday
Hours: 0700-1430
Total hours per fortnight: 70 Hours
About You:
To ensure your success in this role, you will bring experience in environmental services within a hospital or commercial cleaning setting with strong demonstrated knowledge of infection control and hygiene practices. You are a reliable and punctual team member with great verbal and written communication skills. Whether you’re work independently or as part of a team; you always follow manual handling, safety protocols, and procedural instructions.
