About the Role

Join our team as an Environmental Services Assistant on a full time or part time ongoing basis to work as part of a team performing cleaning duties.

You will be rostered to work the following shift each week subject to the position that is applied for:

  • Position 1: Monday to Friday 14:30 - 23:00 (76 hours per fortnight)

  • Position 2: Sunday, Monday & Tuesday 6:30 - 15:00 (48 hours per fortnight)

  • Position 3: Tuesday & Wednesday 14:30 - 23:00 (32 hours per fortnight)

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Environmental cleaning
  • Cleaning of floors surfaces
  • Cleaning stairwells, windows, window ledges and other surfaces.
  • Bathroom and toilet cleaning

About Us

Support Services is responsible for non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.

About You

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

  • A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service and cleaning in a healthcare environment
  • Clear understanding of the Victorian Public Hospital Cleaning Standards
  • Excellent understanding of infection control procedures
  • Effective organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
  • Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
  • Ability to understand, follow and implement written instructions and company procedures
  • The ability to maintain the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality
  • A “Can Do” attitude with the capability to problem solve and troubleshoot
  • Basic to intermediate computer/digital skills
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • Takes pride in your work with great attention to detail
  • Has great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
  • Is able to work unsupervised but take direction
