Join Monash Health’s Facilities & Engineering Team – Planned and Reactive Maintenance Coordinator Opportunities
Are you ready to play a vital role in keeping our hospitals running safely and efficiently? Monash Health is seeking two experienced and motivated Facilities Coordinators to join our dynamic Engineering & Infrastructure team – one focused on Planned Maintenance (PM) and the other on Reactive/Corrective Maintenance (RM/CM).
These hands-on roles are crucial to maintaining the integrity of our hospital infrastructure, supporting clinical operations, and ensuring exceptional patient care through high-performing, safe, and reliable facilities.
Due to the exciting growth taking place at Monash Health, we have several Full Time, Ongoing Positions available for Maintenance Coordinators (both RM & PM) at various sites.
About the Roles
Planned Maintenance Coordinator
You will manage the delivery of preventative maintenance programs, ensuring assets and infrastructure across our facilities remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. This role involves strategic planning, data analysis, and contractor coordination to minimise downtime and improve performance across essential systems and plant.
Reactive Maintenance Coordinator
This role is responsible for coordinating unplanned and urgent maintenance and repair works. You will lead the response to infrastructure and equipment issues, ensuring quick and effective resolutions. You’ll also provide support to the PM Coordinator when required, ensuring seamless service across both maintenance functions.
Key Responsibilities (Both Roles)
- Inspect, diagnose, and coordinate repair of hospital plant, equipment, and building infrastructure
- Manage and prioritise work orders using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Lead and guide internal trade staff and contractors, ensuring safety and quality standards are met
- Assist with minor works projects and continuous improvement of facilities
- Maintain accurate asset records and documentation
- Build strong working relationships across clinical, engineering, and capital works teams
- Ensure compliance with OHS legislation, building codes, and service level agreements
- Participate in the after-hours Engineering department on-call roster
- Champion Monash Health’s values and commitment to quality care
About You
You’ll bring proven experience in facilities maintenance or building services—ideally within healthcare or similarly complex environments—along with strong coordination and problem-solving skills suited to a fast-paced setting. Your communication strengths and ability to manage stakeholders and contractors will be essential to your success.
You will also have:
- A technical qualification or trade background in a relevant field (e.g. electrical, mechanical, building services)
- Hands-on experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Mandatory Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualification and/or tertiary qualification in building services, engineering, facilities management, or related field
- Extensive experience in facilities maintenance or building operations, ideally in a healthcare or similarly complex environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of building services infrastructure (e.g., HVAC, electrical, hydraulics)
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Construction Induction (White Card)
- Sound understanding of contractor management, compliance standards, and OHS regulations
