About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate healthcare worker to join us as the Family Violence Program Officer within our Patient Experience Office at Monash Health.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to organisational and system-wide change, strengthening Monash Health's response to family violence, child safeguarding and elder abuse. Working in partnership with the Family Violence Lead and clinical services across the organisation, you will play a key role in building workforce capability, embedding evidence-informed practice and supporting implementation of Victoria's family violence reforms.
The role supports implementation of Victorian family violence reforms, promotes practice excellence and drives continuous improvement across the health service. Based primarily at Monash Medical Centre Clayton, this position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact at both a service and system level.
About Us
The Patient Experience Office (PEO) at Monash Health champions the voices of patients, families, carers and communities to ensure care is person-centered, compassionate and responsive to individual needs. Through consumer partnerships, co-design initiatives, feedback programs and patient information resources, the team helps shape and improve healthcare services across the organisation. The PEO works closely with consumers and staff to translate lived experiences into meaningful improvements in care delivery, communication and health outcomes.
The Family Violence Program leads Monash Health's organisational response to family violence, child safeguarding and elder abuse. We provide organisational leadership for the implementation of the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework, Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS), Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS) and other legislative and policy requirements relating to safety and safeguarding.
As part of the Patient Experience Office, we work to improve safety and outcomes for patients, families and staff through education, consultation, policy implementation and system-wide improvement initiatives. The team partners with clinical services and external agencies to promote trauma-informed, MARAM-aligned practice and support a coordinated response to family violence across the health service.
About You
You are a collaborative and experienced health professional with a passion for improving responses to family violence across healthcare. You bring expertise in family violence, safeguarding and the Victorian service system, along with the confidence to influence practice, build capability and support staff managing complex situations.
You will bring:
- Qualifications in Social Work or Nursing as outline within the Supportive Documentation below.
- Demonstrated knowledge of family violence, including child safeguarding, elder abuse and contemporary approaches to working with people using violence.
- Strong knowledge and practical application of the MARAM Framework, Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS) and Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS).
- Experience providing secondary consultation and practice advice for complex family violence presentations.
- Proven ability to design and deliver education, training and capability-building initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building skills across multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
- Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A commitment to trauma-informed, culturally safe and person-centred practice.
