About Us
At Monash Children’s Hospital, our Children’s Cancer Centre (CCC) is proud to provide expert care to around 30% of Victoria’s paediatric oncology and haematology patients. We deliver compassionate, comprehensive services across inpatient and outpatient settings, with a focus on improving the lives of children, adolescents, and their families.
As a founding partner of the Paediatric Integrated Cancer Service (PICS), we collaborate with The Royal Children’s Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre to ensure that children across Victoria receive high-quality cancer care as close to home as possible.
About the Role
We’re seeking a passionate and proactive Family and Community Resource Liaison Officer to play a key role in supporting children, adolescents, and families receiving care at the CCC. You’ll work in close partnership with our Allied Health team, volunteers, and external community organisations to enhance the patient and family experience through recreational, social, and respite initiatives.
This position is a Part Time (16 Hours per fortnight) Fixed term Contract
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate donations, visits, and community engagement activities with charity partners, volunteers, and philanthropic organisations

Plan and facilitate non-clinical programs, including our Adolescent and Young Adult program

Maintain recreational spaces and resources, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for patients and families

Provide on-the-ground support for recreational activities, playroom operations, and respite for families

Foster positive relationships between families, clinical staff, and community stakeholders

Support the wellbeing of families by being a key contact point and referring concerns to clinical staff as appropriate
What You’ll Bring

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with children, families, and a wide range of stakeholders

Experience in program coordination, community liaison, or child/family support roles

Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing donations, activities, and schedules

A compassionate, creative, and energetic approach to enhancing patient experiences

Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
