About the Role

Join our team as a General Services Supervisor on a fixed term basis 30th July – 12th December 2026 to work at Victorian Heart Hospital based in Clayton.  In this role, you will be guided under the leadership of the General and Food Services Manager and working with the broader Support Services team.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead and mentor a team of general services talent 
  • Actively contribute to a positive team culture 
  • Roster management 
  • Achieve accreditation for areas of responsibility 
  • Meet service key performance indicators 
  • Deliver high-quality customer focused services 
  • Manage site-wide cleaning, waste, linen and patient movement requests
  • Ensuring adherence to infection prevention protocols at all times.
  • Ensuring patient privacy and dignity at all times
  • Supporting clinical staff with patient care tasks as required
  • Physical work including lifting and manual handling

 

We currently have the following fixed term opportunity available on Thursday – Saturday 10:30 pm-07:00 am (24 hrs per week).

About You

To ensure your success in this role, you will bring experience in environmental services within a hospital or commercial cleaning setting with strong demonstrated knowledge of infection control and hygiene practices. You are a reliable and punctual team member with great verbal and written communication skills. Whether you’re work independently or as part of a team; you always follow manual handling, safety protocols, and procedural instructions.

  • Experience in patient services within hospital, aged care or cleaning settings
  • Strong knowledge of infection control and hygiene practices
  • Passion for patient care, consistently demonstrating respect and empathy
  • Reliable and punctual team member with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills to support daily tasks and documentation
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Committed to following manual handling, safety protocols and procedural instructions
