About the Role:
Join our team in this unique leadership role as the General and Food Services Manager, responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused environmental services, ward support and food services at the Victorian Heart Hospital.

This is a full time, Monday to Friday position based at the Victorian Heart Hospital in Clayton, reporting directly to the Victorian Heart Hospital Support Services Manager. The role is responsible for managing a significant operational budget, leading the Support Services Teams, and ensuring the safety, efficiency and compliance delivery of services including patient services, ward support, patient food services, departmental provisioning for food services, cleaning and infection prevention, and achieving and maintaining the highest food safety standards. We guarantee that no two days will be the same!

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership and support to General Services (cleaning and ward support) at  Victorian Heart Hospital
• Providing leadership and support to Food Services at Victorian Heart Hospital
• Overseeing employee performance, development, and training compliance
• Management of rostering
• Managing budgets and resources to ensure financial accountability
• Ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with all standards and regulations

About You:
This exciting combined Manager role requires an experienced leader with a proven record in managing diverse teams and building strong stakeholder relationships. You will have demonstrated capability in balancing competing demands, managing complex operations, and driving service improvements in line with Monash Health standards. You will have strong communication skills, with the ability to lead change, deliver on key performance indicators, and maintain compliance with safety, accreditation, and food safety standards.

This role calls for a collaborative and customer-focused approach, with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional experiences for patients, visitors, and employees. The ability to problem-solve effectively, foster positive team culture, and work cohesively with colleagues and external partners is vital. A background in healthcare, hospitality or a large complex organisation, combined with relevant qualifications in leadership, food safety, or service management, will be highly regarded.
