About the Role

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of people living with mental health challenges? We are seeking an experienced and motivated mental health professional to step into the role of Group Therapy & Programs Coordinator – Adult Mental Health, based at our Atherton Road Hub in Oakleigh. This is a full-time, ongoing opportunity to lead, inspire, and innovate within a dynamic multidisciplinary team.

 

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping and delivering evidence-based group therapies and wellbeing programs that support recovery and resilience for individuals experiencing moderate to high prevalence mental health conditions. From guiding staff and students to collaborating with consumers, carers, and community partners, you’ll help create pathways for meaningful and lasting change.

 

Opportunities in this role include: 

 

  • Lead with impact – coordinate referrals and oversee engaging group programs that promote psychological wellbeing and healthy lifestyles.
  • Deliver real outcomes – facilitate and support therapies such as CBT and ACT for conditions including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and psychosis.
  • Shape the future – provide clinical leadership, supervision, and education to the next generation of mental health professionals.
  • Champion recovery – partner with consumers and families using the Strengths Model to support individual recovery journeys.
  • Drive innovation – contribute to service development, quality improvement, and inter-agency collaboration.

 

This position is open to Social Workers (Grade 3), Occupational Therapy (Grade 3) & Registered Nurse (Grade 4). 

 

About Us
Monash Health Mental Health Services serves nearly one million people across five local government areas and over 1,000 staff. The program offers a wide range of clinical units including adult, youth, infant, and specialist services, as well as drug and alcohol and gender dysphoria clinics. Supported by specialist research through Southern Synergy, it also runs several Prevention and Recovery Care Services (PARCS) and Community Care Units focused on recovery and rehabilitation. An integrated operational and clinical structure ensures high-quality care and strong support for staff, consumers, and their families.

 

 

About You

You’re an effective leader with strong communication and relationship-building skills. You have recent experience in managing teams, driving change, and delivering results with a patient-focused, inclusive approach.

 

 

Organised and outcome-driven, you work well independently and collaboratively, applying evidence-based practices and respecting diverse perspectives. You have solid experience in community mental health care, case management, and working with culturally diverse groups.

 

 

You’re professional, adaptable, and committed to ongoing learning and safe work practices. Experience working in Alcohol & Other Drugs is highly desireable.
